As part of our outbreak Prevention Program Shareth Homecare ensures to have a comprehensive infection prevention and control COVID-19 response in place.

Some of the strategies we follow are to

  • Recommend to take vaccine
  • Have an infection control lead at our facility
  • Trained staff who can demonstrate competency in infection prevention and control
  • Maintain sufficient supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and to use them as required.

How does the virus spreads?

The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols.

What is COVID-19?

Coronavirus disease 2019 (also referred to as COVID‑19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It has been declared to be a pandemic by the WHO. Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

Symptoms include: Fever Cough Fatigue Shortness of breath or breathing difficulties and loss of smell and taste, anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.

How to prevent the spread?

  • Staying at least 1 metre apart from others,
  • wearing a properly fitted mask, and
  • washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently.
  • Get vaccinated when it’s your turn
